Addendum to Creative Inspiration

Fran and I took a daybreak walk to Morningside this morning.  Morningside is a little community about a block from our home that can boast of pretty, well-kept homes and a large expanse of awesome Long Island Sound coastline.

I’m no stranger to living in nature-inspired locales, having spent most of my adult life in the Hudson Valley, NY, home to the beautiful Catskill mountains.  Autumn in the valley was sublime, the colors riveting.  The rural farms and local waterways were worthy of mention as well.  No shortage of places to escape to where there were pretty things all around you.

But I would have to say, the CT coastline that we now call home offers us a peaceful, calming existence that is hard to beat.  We reached Morningside this morning just as the sun was reaching the horizon.  The range of bright yellow and orange colors was expansive and mesmerizing.  There was enough of a balmy wind that the water was quite choppy, creating a constant thrust of waves against the large boulders along the water edge.

The local birds were making their morning debut, chirping away.  I could feel a rush of spirit welling in my being!  I realized immediately that this little piece of heaven and what it offers to me on a daily basis had to be “on the list” of things that gives rise to my emotions, evokes my creativity and definitely heightens my perspective.

Home to my coffee and the start of my day, I am appreciative of one more of life’s simple pleasures, right at my doorstop.  It was going to be a productive and satisfying day!
